Key Points of Steel Pipe Derusting Technology

1. Cleaning

Use solvents and emulsions to clean the surface of steel pipe to remove oil, grease, dust, lubricants and similar organic matter, but it can not remove rust, scale, welding flux, etc. on the surface of steel, so it is only used as an auxiliary means in defense operations.

2. Pickling

Picking are chemical and electrolytic methods. Steel pipe anti-corrosion uses chemical pickling, which can remove scale, rust, and old coatings. Sometimes it can be used as reprocessing after sandblasting and rust removal. Although chemical cleaning can make the surface reach a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness, but it is easy to cause pollution to the environment.

3. Tool derusting

Using steel wire brushes and other tools to polish the steel pipe surface, which can remove loose scale, rust, welding slag and so on. The rust removal of hand tools can reach Sa2 level, and the rust removal of power tools can reach Sa3 level. If the steel surface is firmly attached with iron oxide scale, the rust removal effect of the tools is not ideal, and the anchor pattern depth required by the anticorrosion construction cannot be reached.

4. Spray derusting

Jet rust removal is driven by a high-power motor that drives the jet blades to rotate at high speed, so that abrasives such as steel shots, steel grit, wire segments, and minerals are sprayed on the surface of the steel tube under the powerful centrifugal force of the motor. Rust and dirt, and the straight seam steel pipe can achieve the required uniform roughness under the action of abrasive impact and friction.

After spraying rust, not only can the physical adsorption of the surface of the pipe be enlarged, but also the mechanical adhesion of the anticorrosion layer to the surface of the pipe can be enhanced. Therefore, spray rust removal is the ideal way to remove pipeline corrosion. Generally speaking, shot peening is mainly used for inner surface treatment of pipes, and shot peening is mainly used for outer surface treatment of steel pipes.

In the production process, strict technical requirements for derusting should be strictly required to prevent damage to the steel pipe due to wrong operation. After the steel pipe is de-embroidered, the appearance of the product will be smoother than before the embroidery is removed. Embroidery is a frequently used technique in the steel pipe industry.
