1. Hemispherical head

Advantages: Minimum surface area, small thickness required, and large pressure-bearing capacity. 　　　

Disadvantages: The depth is large and the punching is difficult. 　　　　　

2. Elliptical head 　　　

Features: Small surface area and the standard head and the cylinder are at the same thickness with large pressure-bearing capacity, and it is easy to be stamped and formed. 　

3. Dish-shaped head

Advantages: It is convenient for manual processing or stamping

Disadvantages: It has larger edge stress.

4. Spherical crown head

Advantages: Simple structure and convenient manufacturing.

Disadvantages: There is a lateral thrust and a large edge stress.

5. Conical head

Advantages: It is convenient to introduce and extract the viscous liquid or solid materials in the equipment. Also it can be used as a two-part variable diameter section on equipment with unequal diameters.

Disadvantages: There is a large lateral thrust and edge stress.

6. Flat head

Advantages: Easiest to manufacture.

Disadvantages: Low pressure bearing capacity.
