The Difference between Straight Seam Pipe and Spiral Pipe

The difference between straight seam pipe and spiral pipe:

1.From the perspective of processing: straight seam pipe are formed by bending steel plates of a certain width into cylinders and then welding them to form. The equipment is simple and the productivity is high.

Spiral pipes are made by winding steel plates of a certain width into a tube, and then welding them. The equipment is complicated. At the same time, because the welds are much longer than the straight seam steel pipes, the productivity is relatively low.

2. From the perspective of strength: the internal stress of straight seam steel pipe is distributed along the weld seam after welded, while the internal stress of the spiral steel pipe after welded is evenly distributed in the axial and radial directions, which can partially offset the pressure. So in terms of pressure resistance, spiral steel pipe is stronger.
